(May 18, 2011 at the Seneca-Allegany Casino Event Center)
The day began with breakfast.
Louise Ortman, the NYSUT retiree services coordinator for our area, welcomed approximately 100 participants to the full-day event.
The morning session kicked off with "An Insider's View of Albany & Washington" from Floyd Cameron, NYSUT's director of retiree services.
Floyd Cameron. (You couldn't see him in the picture above, and he deserves a closeup!)
One of the most popular sessions every year is advice from an "elderlaw" attorney concerning estate and medicaid planning. This year, we heard from Jeffery Katz.
We were lucky to snag a high-level state official! Greg Olsen, acting director of the NYS Office for the Aging not only explained the services available from his office, but also brought a wealth of information about seniors and their positive contribution to the regional and state economy. By clicking here, you can access the slides from his powerpoint presentation as a pdf file.
